I have two cats - one has short fur, and the other has long fur. This brush has been effective for removing shed fur from both cats. The water misting function is great for ensuring the fur sticks onto the brush. The mister makes a small hissing sound, which may alarm some cats, but mine didn't seem bothered by it. Fur comes off the brush in one mat for easy disposal.
